Grandpa Layne's Birthday

While I was blogging, I got a call from Josh and he has been offered a promotion! He'll be moving into a Sales Manager position, starting at $38,000 and increasing to $40,000 after the first 90 days! It is such a blessing! He has been on hourly, so he hasn't had any sick days or paid holidays, so this will be awesome! I just wanted to share the good news!

Sunday was my dear dad's 50th birthday, so we spent the weekend in Tropic. It was so much fun! Josh had been really sick, so he wasn't planning on going, but he finally decided to the last minute. We drove to Cedar on Friday because I had to drop some things off at the college and we were feeling 'homesick' for our old college town. If you get a chance, I recommend walking through the new Education building and Old Main. Wow! They have done an excellent job on those buildings, and they are beautiful! I am jealous that I had to complete the education program in the hot yucky classrooms of the old PE building, but oh well, at least I am done! After that little detour, we drove over Cedar Mountain to Tropic (I love that drive!) Lainey did so well considering she spent the majority of the day in her carseat. On Saturday, we loaded up the horses and 4wheelers and packed a picnic for a day out in the Paria (south of Kodachrome) It was so much fun to have everyone there, and Josh really enjoyed riding horses (I don't ride horses...) and we went on a long 4wheeler ride and got really muddy- it was awesome! Lainey had her first horse ride and 4wheeler ride- She loved it! It was so nice to get out of the city and play in the mud!
